Happy New Year~ I do hope all the sickness that passed through our family
(and many other families) over the holidays is over with for a long time! I was too wiped out to decorate in our house for Christmas, so I guess I'm making up for lost time. You COULD say I'm getting a jump on spring cleaning, but from all the dust I'm uncovering, I think it's spring of 2010 cleaning! LOL!
I purchased this pie safe (yes, ANOTHER pie safe!) after Christmas, picked it up on Friday, and got it washed and in to our dining room today. Below is the "before" decorating photo. The color isn't as bright red as it looks here; it's much darker and has dark green paint on the top and on the outside of one leg. There is screen on both sides, too. What is it about old screen cabinets- I am so enamored of them! Think this is number four for me!
Above is the filled cabinet with some of my pottery bowl collection, a few of my wooden bowls, and linens on the bottom. The tall legs afforded ample room for some taller crocks.

Changed the top of my "cookbook cabinet". Moved some buckets from the family room and gathered them here for a change. Isn't it amazing how a little change makes a big difference?
Put the little cow figurine next to two bells that resemble cow bells~ it plays well with the old (June 1925) magazine cover print of two farm children bringing the cows home.
Enough "playing" for today- need to get into my sewing room and get going on Valentine stock for my Coachman Antique Mall booth!
Best wishes to you all for a happy & HEALTHY 2014!
