May at Fawn Run Mercantile

Welcome to Fawn Run Farm, my home and shop here in beautiful Rolling Prairie, In.
Step up onto the worn wood porch of  the barn/shop and relax
in one of the many benches or chairs.
The house finches have built nests in the hanging flower buckets
and you may hear one scolding if your venture too near.

The little posy pots went home with some happy customers today.
I loved using the old flour sifters with built-in drainage for some of the offerings.
This coal/ ash bucket proved a whimsical container for a fairyland garden.
This cabinet is so much fun to decorate with all the drawers, doors, and pegs.
I've always been a pushover for pewter and therefore
always have some neat pieces to sell in the shop.
The little multi-drawer cupboard on the top of the cabinet below
went home with a lucky customer today.
A cute single door cabinet with open cubbie-hole top.
Got in some of Karen Ripley's beautiful dried wreaths again.
 A simple spring table-top vignette.

All my favorites below: wooden buckets, yellowware bowls,
and a green milk paint cupboard.

At this point, the batteries on my camera gave out this morning.
Wish I had a warning I could give out when MY batteries are exhausted
and then I might simply refresh with new batteries!

Open Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central

I'd love to have you stop by for a visit-
I'll have the coffee pot on and the lemonade a chillin'.

Come on out to the farm!

April Offerings at the Mercantile!

Thought I'd give you a preview of some of the offerings this month at
 Fawn Run Farm Mercantile.
We're open Saturday & Sunday April 6 & 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central time,
but remember you may also call for an appointment on other days in the month.
Usually, if I'm home, I can be "open."

3883 E. 700 N. Rolling Prairie, IN 46371

I LOVE this new piece- pegs, drawers, doors- fun to display!
This old grey open cupboard would make an awesome pantry cabinet!
I've enjoyed making these hanging bags out of early grain sacks.
Here's a new cutie- mustard corner cabinet!
Another favorite- the black settle bench.
We've got lots of cute laundry room decorations.
Lot's of great storage in this old dresser!
Have a "dead" corner you'd like to fill?
This cupboard would do it!
A trio of my handcrafts- bottle doll, mousie in wooden shoe,
and stitchery on old piece of  ironing board wood.
My heart skips a beat when I look at this bowl- it's HUGE
(maybe two feet across), and has old make-do repairs!

Here's that huge bowl filled with
freshly cut pussy willows from my yard.

Wish you could see this little guy's sweet face!

Took this pic of my folk doll in my house
before she traveled out to the shop.

Freshly baked whoopie pies are back in stock
and Ruth from The Rootseller
brought some gorgeous hellebores (or Lenten roses.)

Hope you like what you've seen so far and will
"come on out to the farm" to see the rest.

Spring Opening Preview!!!

It's been some time since I've posted in my blog! Been putting in quite a few hours towards our Master Gardener symposium over the past two months, but now the push is on to get my shop ready to open on Saturday & Sunday, March 2 & 3. Of course I had to move practically every piece of furniture in order to give the shop a whole new feel and now I'm still in the process of putting it all back together again. I do believe it looks the best it ever has, though! Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. Central (Chicago) time and we'll be here to serve and visit with you until 4:00 p.m.
Here's a peek at some of the displays I've completed.

Hope to see you this weekend!
