Here we go!

I really have no idea what I'm doing here, but everyone keeps saying, "get a blog," so here I go! Thought this might be another way to reach out to other folk art and primitive lovers and give them a look at the great offerings awaiting them here at the farm. I've been a folk artist for nearly 30 years and have been crafting since my childhood days. For the past 20 years I hosted the Prairie Pride Folk Art shows here in the Rolling Prairie, Indiana area - the last 9 of those years, the shows were held here at the farm. Last December, I retired the shows and now have my own shop. Fawn Run Farm Mercantile is open the first weekend of every month through December. The next opening will be on September 1 & 2 and we'll also be open on Monday/ Labor Day, September 3. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central time (Chicago time)
I'm also open by appointment, so give me a call if another day or time is convenient for you!
My ads can be found in the following magazines: A Simple Life , A Primitive Place, Mercantile Gatherings, and a listing in Folk Magazine. fawnrunfarmprimitives.com
Take a pleasant drive into Galena Township, just north of Rolling Prairie, Indiana and turn in to our driveway. You'll probably be greeted by the cooing songs of our resident blue birds. Walk through the towering pergola and you may see the humming birds sipping nectar from the trumpet vines. The fragrance of the passion vine will stop you in your tracks if the beauty of the blossoms don't. The sound of water trickling in the rustic pitcher pump fountain will soothe your approach to the barn/ shop porch.
Look up when you enter the shop and you'll see the bucket lights with pie/cake tin ceiling plates. Inside, the shop is filled with everything I love and would put in my own home if only it were big enough! Primitives are my favorite, so they make up the bulk of goods, though you'll also find a few other genres covered. Besides my own handcrafted folk art (and that of my bff Jill Boniface), make-dos, antiques and collectibles, and revamped furniture, we carry lines of scented candles, rugs, lighting, bath & body products, and many one-of-a-kind treasures.

Guess that's enough to whet your whistle for today. Just "come on out to the farm!"
Marcy
